ATLANTA, GA (Dec. 3, 2013) – Jackson Healthcare, the nation’s third largest healthcare staffing company, announced the purchase of Tyler & Company, a 35-year-old national firm that recruits healthcare executives for organizations including hospitals, health systems, physician group practices and academic medical centers.

Tyler & Company officially joined Jackson Healthcare on Dec. 1, 2013, becoming its 15th operating company. Like Jackson Healthcare’s other companies, Tyler & Company will continue as an independently run firm. J. Larry Tyler will continue in his role as chairman and CEO. Dennis J. Kain will remain president.

“Larry is one of the most trusted, respected and sought-after healthcare executive consultants in the nation,” said Richard L. Jackson, chairman and CEO of Jackson Healthcare. “We are able to offer Tyler & Company a platform for growth that will significantly expand its influence in our industry.”

Jackson and Tyler’s business relationship began in the 1970s, when they worked for Coker & Associates. In 1978, Jackson purchased Coker’s physician search division and Tyler purchased its executive search division, launching both men into industry leadership roles that continue today.

“The associates of Tyler & Company are extremely happy to be partnering with Jackson Healthcare,” said Tyler. “We are looking forward to expanding our search practice with the resources that Jackson Healthcare can provide, as well as helping Jackson Healthcare round out its service offerings.
