Dennis J. Kain, FACHE, President of Tyler & Company, received the American College of Healthcare Executive’s (ACHE) highest service award, its Exemplary Service Award.  

Part of ACHE’s three-tiered Recognition Program, the Exemplary Service Award acknowledges members’ contributions to healthcare management excellence via volunteer service to the profession, the chapter and ACHE.

“Through their volunteer activities and service, ACHE’s members play a crucial role in strengthening the healthcare management profession,” says Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE, ACHE President and CEO. “It is ACHE’s pleasure to honor exceptional leaders such as Dennis Kain for their extensive volunteer involvement. I would like to congratulate Dennis on his Exemplary Service Award and express my appreciation, on behalf of ACHE and its Board of Governors, for his service to ACHE, ACHE chapters and the field.”

ACHE Chapter President Edmund L. (Ned) Lafer, MD, FACHE, presented Kain with the award, a pin displaying three stars, during the annual meeting of the Healthcare Leadership Network of the Delaware Valley on June 11, 2014, in Philadelphia. 

About ACHE’s Recognition Program

ACHE’s Recognition Program celebrates ACHE members’ commitment to the healthcare management profession. Recognition is bestowed at three levels, based on a range of specific volunteer activities that demonstrate leadership and contributions to furthering professional excellence. All active ACHE members are eligible to be recognized. Examples of service activities include serving as education speakers, mentors, chapter volunteers or in ACHE governance.

The ACHE Recognition Program is based on points accrued through volunteer activities performed in a convocation year (April to March). A member does not need to achieve a set number of points in a single year, but, rather, accumulates points over time. Members have the opportunity to progress through three award levels, with the Exemplary Service Award being the highest.
