Boone Hospital Center

Tyler & Company is pleased to announce an outstanding opportunity for a:

Chief Financial Officer
Boone Hospital Center, currently part of BJC Healthcare
Transitioning to the new independent Boone Health System
Columbia, Missouri

This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a relational, visionary CEO, a cohesive senior leadership team, and a strong and supportive board, and to join a financially successful, progressive health care system that is rapidly changing and advancing as it disengages from the BJC system and develops new processes and services designed to support the local community.

The Organization

Boone Hospital Center is a 392-bed, full service, regional referral center with a reputation for excellence in cardiovascular medicine, obstetrics, neurology, oncology, orthopedics and surgical services, with 1,700 employees and 320 physicians, along with 13 clinics and a variety of affiliate relationships.

  • Ranked #1 hospital in mid-Missouri and #4 hospital in the state by U.S. News & World Report.
  • Only hospital in mid-Missouri designated as 5-star CMS.
  • Four-time designated Magnet hospital; the first mid-Missouri hospital to achieve Magnet designation.
  • The hospital and its Stewart Cancer Center are members of the Siteman Cancer Network.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the new CEO, the Chief Financial Officer will be integral in assisting the system to continue to grow, helping to develop opportunities as presented by acquisition and affiliation targets, population health and other market influences. The CFO will lead a robust, visible and integrated finance organization designed to support growth activity, performance metrics and operational excellence of the organization. Additionally, the CFO will partner with physician stakeholders, continue to solidify and grow relationships with these valued resources, and will be a leader who proactively supports the mission of the organization internally and in the community.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a strategic financial executive with more than 10 years of health care experience in progressively more senior positions and have significant experience in the full financial management of hospitals/health systems of similar size to Boone. Experience within an independent, community hospital/system environment, including responsibility for treasury, debt, ratings and mergers/acquisitions is valued. A master’s degree or CPA designation is strongly desired. A forward-thinking financial executive who enjoys staying current with new trends and who is strategic in nature is ideal.
