The healthcare landscape has changed significantly since the late 1970’s. Hospitals and academic healthcare institutions face increasing demands to embrace integrated electronic health record systems and maintain financial viability, despite the shifting landscape of healthcare finance and reimbursement methodologies. They also face challenges associated with population management with an aging patient base – all while navigating the Byzantine and ever-changing complexities of healthcare’s legal and regulatory framework during a time of great uncertainty in Washington. Now, more than ever before, healthcare institutions require great leaders who can adapt to the new paradigm and innovate to solve complex problems with a goal of providing affordable access to quality healthcare and a friendly, compassionate experience for patients and their families.
